GEICO Living

GEICO Living was a rebranding of the former GEICO More content site to bring the web property in line with geico.com and Careers using the corporate Design Kit styles and framework. Working closely with Design and Marketing teams, the GEICO Living property underwent several design phases and an information architecture restructuring to revamp all of the site's content. GEICO Living prominently featured more articles and content to discover using unique card layouts, easier navigation between categories, a more streamlined article view, and a new insurance quote widget.

A Wordpress theme was written from scratch to accommodate the new Design Kit styles and components, with completely new templates coded for the homepage, category pages, and articles. Shortcodes were utilized on the homepage and article pages to allow Marketing copywriters to easily feature articles, content, and calls to action for various insurance products.

The new web property's rebranding required a new base URL of geico.com/living instead of geico.com/more. Infrastructure teams worked closely to ensure that all traffic from the former site redirected to its counterpart on GEICO Living. The project was carefully coordinated to allow publication of articles on the old site while continually migrating all content to GEICO Living in order to ensure a successful implementation.
